A family run business for over 120 years, the Thurlestone Hotel offers traditional hospitality to families, couples and locals. It was important for the website to communicate these core USP’s while still attracting new visitors.
The project got underway with a brand exercise, to unify its ethos, promise and message. We created a brand bible which the client could follow in-house and enable a firm product position visually, verbally and experientially.
It was essential to the client to highlight the book direct message to its visitors. A strong banner was created throughout the website to highlight the benefits of this to guests.
We reviewed the content of a copywriting exercise and suggested changes to the photography used. A lifestyle photography shoot took place to capture the facilities used by families and couples and to attract a younger audience.
The structure of the website needed to work across different devices, so slick responsive design was essential. Carefully crafted page sections were built within the CMS to allow the client to advertise the facilities available to core audiences precisely and to allow for cross-selling and clear call to action’s to be emphasised.
The hotel had traditionally sold vouchers in house for existing customers, after deciding to purchase our Gift Voucher Brilliance software some 10 months ago they have generated in excess of £11,000 in gift voucher sales, 97% of Thurlestone vouchers are now purchased online.
